Deran touched his bracelet, making the chest and book disappear. The key floated back into the bracelet. Deran took the bracelet, slipping it over his wrist, healing his wound. "I understand. I'm sorry. I just wanted to help you, but I guess I'm just making things worse. I shouldn't of followed you, you just remind me of someone...that I loved over three hundered years ago. I guess I just felt empty from not having anyone to live for, and for not knowing anyone."
Deran looked down at the ground, his thoughts turning back to Teranna, the girl he had almost given everything to, until he found all that she wanted was to have immortal life, for him to turn her.

Jamie watched the vampire carefully. He was toying with her emotions, trying to confuse her. That much she knew. She watched the man distantly, careful not to let him get a grip on her emotions. She wouldn't turn her back on this man. No, as he said, it was extraordinarily stupid to do such a thing with an enemy or a stranger. "You followed me because I looked like someone you knew?" Jamie stared at the other vampire as though he had a third eye. Then she rolled her eyes. She wouldn't go back to Rigoletto tonight, just in case Deran decided he was going to follow her again. "Do you usually follow people around like this?" she asked, raising an eyebrow. No, she would not let this man near her son. If anything happened to Aaron, Jamie would probably sink into the oblivions of madness...

Deran laughed, "No, but I do have an excuse. You're the first vampire I've met since I've arrived here, you remind me of a girl I was in love with but then was betrayed by, and you were also on the verge of death. Usually, I just observe people, I only rarely follow them." Deran smiled, a little happy he had made an acquantice but a little upset that it was more on forced terms.
"Though, I can promise you this, I wont follow you anymore, unless if you look like you are in need of help, I have an amazing memory and hardly forget a face, which brings me to ask why you haven't told me your name." Deran looked at her, as if challenging her to open up to him.

Jamie eyed Deran. "I'm sorry, but I'm not availible. As you can probably figure out, I am with my son's father, and no one else. She couldn't be with anyone else, Rigoletto had finally captured her. His love to her was obviously pronounced to her when he left her for their son's safety as she had begged him to in that Chamber.
"I haven't told you my name because I'd prefer to remain anonymous for my, and my son's safety," Jamie said, a flicker of wariness coming back to her. though it was only natural Daren would want to know her name, after all, he had told her his. Jamie hesitated for a few moments before speaking again. "But my name is Jamie, and let's leave it at that," she said, glancing around to make sure that no one else was around or surrounding her. She had been in that situation thrice too many times for her liking. The result had been more wounds and a deep, gnawing hunger clawing at her...

Deran smiled sadly, "Thank you, Jamie. I will not tell anyone of our meeting. I suggest you do the same, even though it has been 500 years I have a bounty on my head...though for other reasons than your own." Deran could feel himself become hungry, he needed to eat soon, but sadly all his pills were destroyed when Jamie had let them fall. He would have to control himself when he went out to society, before he made some more.

Jamie glanced away. Hunger still gnawed at her like some rabid beast that was trying to claw itself out. She would have to hunt more, plenty more. "I take it that you're the last of your kin?" Jamie asked, raising an eyebrow as she studied him closely, her now brown eyes looking at hime carefully, yet almost curiously. She would still not let him near her son. With what had gone on lately, she trusted no one but herself and Rigoletto.

Deran fingered one of the many scars on his arm, rubbing it as if had just been wounded. "Yes, I am the last of the Kieler clan. I am also the last leader...the last of a very long line." Deran knew that all he had to do was have a child and a wife, but the thought of marrying just to continue his clan disgusted him. His parents had married for love, that was the way it had always been.
Deran looked up, "Are you the last of your family?" He wondered if she could even understand betrayal in the sense that a power hungry relative was the one who had led the killings. He had spared Deran, knowing that it would haunt him for the rest of his life. "You don't have to answer that, but if you have ever felt betrayed, mainly for your beliefs, I know the feeling."

Jamie shrugged. "I have a few distantly related cousins, but after we declared our loyalties, they disowned us...Or we disowned them, whichever," she said, then looked away. "I was the one who betrayed my master..But I did it for my son. Once I saw things the way they really were, I knew I didn't want him caught in that life... I love him too much to do something like that to him," Jamie said quietly...

"I see. I believe we have been let go of others for different reasons. I'm guessing your master as you say, isn't all about saving people, but more of killing them for no reason. My family was ruined because we tried to make peace with the humans, for my whole life I haven't tasted a single drop of human blood. I guess that's what you get for trying to be friends with the rest of the world, all they can see is a bloodthirsty vampire, and nothing else." Deran looked at her, a sad smile on his face. "I can see why you want to raise your son in a different environment."

"My master..is..was..the Dark Lord," Jamie murmured quietly. She was silent for a moment before speaking. "The Dark Lord wants my son to use him to his advantage. He was never unreasonably cruel until..until everything fell apart. I caught Rigoletto and took him to my Lord..Then the baby came, and my master lost his temper. I was treated badly, and I suddenly realized what was happening. I tried to make him believe my son was ddead..But he broke through the memory charm...That is how I got these wounds..Nevermind the fact that I haven't fed in at least a month and a half. I was driven off my grounds by a clan when they saw that I was mourning the.. 'death' of my son. Since I had nowhere to hunt, I grew weak and have been unable to heal... My..partner has allowed me to feed on his land, despite the fact that he dislikes my feeding off of live people. But he and I both know that I would not be able to heal without it... I don't want my son in this

Deran took a step toward her, lifting his hand slightly as if silently saying he was sorry. "The Dark Lord...is very powerful. I know that many have tried to kill him because of his crimes against the innocent, and he was one of the reasons I returned. You see, I kill people who kill the innocent, people like the Dark Lord."
Deran paused as he quickly thought over the ideas that raced through his mind. "Why did the Dark Lord want to use your son, what advantage would he have? Is it because your son is a pureblooded vampire? If this is the case...then maybe we can each solve our problems. However, I would be lucky, we would all be very lucky to get out of it alive."
Deran fingered the blade of his dagger, twirling it as he thought. "Though, I personally feel like I've had a rather long life, and he was on my list. Speaking of which, your hunger. I know you need to kill people to be healed, but maybe you don't have to kill the innocent."
Deran reached inside his cloak taking out a blank sheet of paper. He pointed his wand at it, whispering a spell which made the words appear. "Throughout the years I've created a sort of list of people who have committed serious crimes, and should, in my opininon be killed for them. Usually I like to plan out their death, so that they may feel the same pain, but you could just eat them. They are alive, healthy and breathing. True, some may be a little dangerous, but all on this particular list are muggles, so you have a plus two advantge by being a wizard and a vampire. It would give me a peace of mind if you took to eating them instead of innocent people. Plus, you can't really be kicked off the land for killing these people, and they all live in the area...which is sad considering the length of the list." Deran handed Jamie the paper, waiting for her to take it, and to respond to all the propositions and questions he had spoken about.

"Yes, my son is a pureblood. No, you may not use him. My son will not be used for other people's advantage.," Jamie said quickly. "I feed on only those I run across. If it was their fate to die, die they shall. I will not feed on tainted blood unecessarily," she said, shaking her head. She would not feed from the blood of murderers and cruel people. It tasted foul in her mouth and Jamie wondered for a moment what she had tasted like to Rigoletto.
Jamie cringed and shook her head. "No, I will not feed off the tainted," she said, recoiling from the list as though it would bite her...

Deran put the list back in his cloak, seeing how she didn't want it. "I'm afraid you misunderstood me. I don't want to use your son, I was merely suggesting that I could take his place. If the Dark Lord wanted him primarly because he is a pureblood, he could just take me instead. I am ready to be of use and highly skilled and have years of experience in doing various things. This, I believe would help release some of the pressure off of your families back, while also allowing me to get closer to my own goal." Deran smiled, knowing he was basically offering to go on a suicide mission, but he didn't have much to live for.

Jamie shook her head again. "He wanted my son for the fact that he could raise him as he liked and know that he had an absolutely loyal servant. He'll have no interest in you. The only reason he even shows an interest in my partner is for his rank in the other vampires," she said, then frowned. "He will only send you after my son and I anyway, if he does take you. You cannot hide anythng from him. Even my partner crumbled under his Legilimens. You won't stand a chance," she said...

Deran sighed, looking at the ground. "I see. I guess I just keep trying to find a reason to stay here in London, which is hard seeing how this isn't going to be a joyful visit. Tell me, is there anyway that I can help? With anything, not you or your family in particular, but with destroying the Dark Lords reign of terror?"
Deran knew that eventually he would most likely cross paths with the Dark Lord, it was best to create some allies in fighting him, seeing how he would probably need all the help he could get.
"You mentioned that your husband ranks high in the vampires. Is he a pureblood, or is he just a very skilled fighter?" Deran asked wondering how protected Jamie and her son really were.
