Jamie moved silently behind her prey. Yes, Rigoletto had given her a potion, but it just wasn't enough. She needed the real thing to help recover from being tortured. Jamie's stiff denim jeans made a slight brushing sound that alerted the muggle to her presence. Before he could do anything, Jamie was at his throat. For a few moments, the man struggled. Then he slowly went limp and Jamie finished him off, the last drop of blood leaving him within a minute of when he was attacked.
Relief flodded through Jamie as her more severe wounds began to close up and heal. As she dropped the man, she became aware of the prickling sensation of someone watching her. Jamie's red eyes, fresh from feeding, glared into the darkness. She hated it when people caught her feeding, it was like being caught naked in front of the street. People could see her for what she truly was. instead of what she pretended to be. glowering into the darkness, Jamie spoke, her voice angry and agressive. "Who is it that dares to follow me here? Show yourself!" she said, then acutely aware that the scent that came to her was that of another vampire. Jamie growled quietly low in her throat as she braced herself for a fight...

Deran stepped out of the darkness, his hood covering his face. He had watched in disgust her kill the human, but the smell was overpowering, from being away from the scent of spilled human blood. His blue eyes glared brightly back into her own, he was prepared to fight, but he had also noticed the wounds on her own body and wondered where she had recieved them. He couldn't judge her, not yet. He had killed many people to seek revenge on his family, maybe she was doing the same thing. Deran spoke softly, pushing his judgemental hate down into his stomach as it boilied up inside of him. "I am Deran L Kieler. Now, it is my turn to ask you a question. Where did you recieve those wounds?" Deran let his hood fall back, revealing thin scars running up and down his handsome face.

Jamie laughed mirthlessly, the sound bouncing off the walls of the alley. "You're quite nosy, aren't you? Anyway, that's for me to know and you to wonder about," she said coldly as she noticed the boy's stance. He was tense, ready to fight if need be, but Jamie didn't want to. Not yet at least. Jamie stepped over the body of the dead man. "Why are you here?" she asked, raising an eyebrow at his scars...

Deran drained all emotion from his face, his eyes a cold lifeless glare. He wished he would of stopped her from killing the man. There was something about her that made him feel like she usually killed humans. She wasn't to be trusted. Though she hadn't recognized his name, and she seemed quite young, seeing how she hadn't noticed him following her. There was no way she would know about his families past, about his importance in the Kieler Clan. His voice was cold, "I came here to seek -" Deran stopped talking as a bird flew overhead. What was Nira trying to get across to him? His face softened, his attention brought back to the person in front of him. "Who are you?" He clenched his dagger hiding it underneath his cloak, she would be weak from the wounds she had recived, it appeared to be easy to hurt her, if she didn't answer, though hurting another of his kind, of anyone would just be sinking to the people who murdered his families disgracefull level.

Jamie raised an eyebrow. "You're seeking..who?" she asked, advancing on the 'young' man. "I, young man, am someone you don't want to run across in a situation like yours. I am feared, wanted, and above all, I am your enemy..until you prove otherwise," she said coldly. This boy wasn't one of the other vampires that had driven her from the decent hunting grounds into the sparsly inhabited hunting grounds. "Why are you wasting your time with asking questions? You should be running," she said, glaring at Deran, her voice a hiss that bounced off the walls of the alley..

Deran couldn't help himself, but for the first time in a long time, he had begun to laugh. "No, I daresay that you, my child are the foolish one." He chuckled, his eyes twinkiling, however he was careful not to let down his guard. "I may not look it, but I am very, very old. Much older than you; you act as someone who had just been turned. That is what you are, I can smell it, you aren't even a 'true' vampire. I'm sorry for my rudeness, and harsh words but running, turning your back on the enemy, is a very stupid thing to do. Pride is also an issue." Deran took a deep breath, holding in the rest of his laughter. "Also, if you are wondering what I seek, I seek revenge. You see, I come from the Kieler clan, a clan which was once part of the first group of vampires, a pure-blood you can say. My clan was murdered by a group of foolish humans and other vampires, because the Kieler clan, rather my parents, had attempted to become friends with the humans and not eat them, like the one you just did." Deran paused, a small smile on his lips. "For the past 500 years I have been a lone wolf, wandering the world, carefully planning out the murders of individuals, I believe have no right to live. Why I am telling you this, is because you should be more carefull about believeing that you are the most feared, because you really aren't a threat at all." Deran reached into his pocket and grabbed the pill box tossing them to her, "If your hungry have one of those blood pills, it will sustain you until you can find something more tasty to eat." Deran smiled, observing her with carefull curiousity.

Jamie glared at the older vampire. "Just because I'm not a 'true' vampire as you say does not mean that I'm not dangerous," she growled, her lip raised in a snarl. "I feed because I must. if you had gone through what I have, you would know that nothing but fresh kill would help," Jamie spat. "Congratulations, you're avenging yourself, now go away," Jamie hissed, still glaring and preparing herself for a fight if the other vampire wouldn't go away.
"I am feared in the human world. Teams of Aurors shake when they hear my name, and most lower ranking vampires avoid eye contact with me. The only reason there has been a pause in the respect from our kind is because I was...It was because of recent events weakening me, things that I might have had control of at one point in time if a few spells hadn't broken and a few certain foolish mistakes hadn't been made," Jamie said coldly, stepping back from the blood pills and letting them fall to the ground. A shower of red pebble looking things covered the ground. "Those will do nothing for me, I already know that. The only thing that will help me heal is fresh, warm blood, and there is nothing that can be done about it," Jamie said coldly, arrogantly. She refused to touch anything that anyone besides Rigoletto gave her. Who knew how many assassins Ramsies' clan had sent out to look for her...

Deran watched the pills fall, and then scatter everywhere. He should of suspected this, that she was dangerous in both aspects, wizard and vampire alike. Though, he couldn't help but fell like she was hiding something from him. Deran approached her, his face set in a hard stone. Deran resisted the temptaion to snarl back, and to leave. "I'm not going anywhere. I know what it's like to hunt, and to be hunted. I left this place for 500 years, because a whole group of bloodthirsty vampires, wizards, muggles and werewolves were after me. The people who my family trusted, stabbed them in the back, and I will hunt everyone of them down and their families until they have felt the same pain. I need your help, and you may need mine." Deran paused, his hand now grasping the hilt of his dagger, carefully hiding it from her view. "I only have one question for you, who is your leader, judging by your views, I believe we have the same goals in mind, and I don't like to waste time." Deran smiled, his sharp fangs glinting in the sunlight. His facial expression became more relaxed, "By the way, the best place to go for food, is to go back to the place where your pride was lost, killing them makes it all the more fun. And this few mistakes you made, you know you can block out all emotions and memories, it makes you an even more ruthless killer, and maybe surprise them with a couple other tatics than just using magic and your fangs." Deran took a slight step back away from her, his foot crushing the blood pills, sending the sweet scent floating through the air.

Jamie's muscles coiled themselves as Deran approached her. "I don't need any help. If I did I would already have it. I'm quite sure that my source of help exceeds yours," she spat, baring her fangs as he came closer. They shined in the moonlight, still slightly red from her feeding. Jamie took careful aim. One more step and she would launch herself at this vampire, whether or not his strength outnumbered hers.
Jamie watched Deran warily, still glaring at him. "I am my own leader," she said after a moment, still glaring at him. "I would rather die than go back to that heck hole," Jamie spat, aggressive again. She could practically feel her hackles raising, and felt the nagging itch to turn into her animagus form. Ironic that it should be a wolf. "The mistakes that I made should not be blocked. They've already been blocked once, and it landed me with these," Jamie said, gesturing to her wounds. A few were still weeping blood through the black, red, and white fabric of her corset. Jamie's muscles relaxed slightly as the older vampire stepped away, the smell of blood, whether it be fresh or stale, intoxicating Jamie. Her fangs lengthened slightly , reaching their full extent and for a moment there was a gleam of blood lust in Jamie's eyes. Then she recovered herself and glared at the vampire....

Deran watched her carefully, her words about mistakes and not blocking them sent a dagger through his chest. He knew in his heart that running away from his fears, his loss, and trying to make up for them by killing people who killed the innocent only made matters worse. For the past 500 years, he couldn't do the one normal human thing, and grieve.
Deran couldn't bear to fight her anymore, his body and soul were tired. He collapsed, as if an unknown force had pushed him back. He half layed, and half sat on the cold ground, his body trembling as all the memories came flooding back. In a shakey voice he whispered, "I'm sorry. You're right. I'm sorry to have bothered you." Deran looked at her, his eyes full of pain, as if screaming out for help. "I don't know of your strength, but I know your soul is much stronger than mine, your desire to live. Your compassion. I envy you. I envy your strong heart and I envy that you do have people who would gladly die for you...I have none. I always looked at the world as if it hated me, though I guess through meeting you, I realize that I am the one who hates the world, and the world all along is just waiting for me to let go of my past and move on." Deran paused, closing his eyes as he pictured his family, he reached into his cloak and took out the carefully folded and preseved picture. He opened the soft brown paper and watched his little sister Nira, smiling back at him, and then run around with a fairy stick. Deran tried to stand up, but his strength seemed to have failed him. Deran turned away looking down the alley, whispering, "I'm sorry. I have failed you."

Jamie jumped back as Deran fell to the ground as though he might have something catching. Then she snorted. "They don't willingly die. I blackmail them...or call in old favors....Though most of them would deny they even knew me now," she said, rolling her eyes. By turning on her master (Had she??), she had lost most of her contacts.
Jamie eyed the other vampire warily, fearing it was a trap. She was slightly disgusted by the man's show of emotions, but then she thought of her lack of control lately and looked away embarrassedly. Jamie took another step backwards, feeling as awkward as a fish out of water. "Vengance isn't always a bad thing...It's just that, in my case, the odds aren't exactly in my favor. Take your vengance if it helps you. I have other priorities, though, than getting myself killed, I have people..very, very little and vulnerable people relying on me," Jamie said, thinking of Aaron, her son, one of the few' true' blooded vampires left...

Deran watched her carefully, she obviously was uncomfortable with his sudden breakdown. He was surprised at how much in control she was, how she hadn't let down her guard. He quickly stood up, a smile on his face. "Congragulations, you're more stronger than I thought. Whoever turned you, did so wisely. My actions were false, but some of things I told you were true. I guess it's up to you to decide which ones are true." Deran continued, knowing in his heart, that his emotions and the things he had told her were infact purely true, but she couldn't know that he was that weak, it would be shamefull to his whole clan.
"About this little one, from the looks if it I'm guessing his father is also a vampire, seeing how young you are, and how young the child sounds like, he must be a vampire...possibly even a pureblood. I know you will decline this immediatly, and I don't blame you. But, I would like to try to redeem myself, for my sister. You see, she was only five when she died. I tried...to protect her, but failed after being tortured nearly to death, these scars remind me of that failure. But, if you do let me, I would be honored to protect this child of yours, seeing how you appear to be on the run. Or I could help you with disappearing, I unfortuently am very good at that." Deran cocked his head, a sad expression in his eyes, he still clutched the picture of Nira, her smiling face now directed at the vampire in front of him.

"I didn't want my turning, not after I felt the bite. I was attacked by werewolves while I was fighting him..I lost too much blood...He tried so many things..But in the end all that was left was for me to die or be turned. I was scared..I still am, by the prospects of death. He turned me, and I hated him for it. I despised his kind. I was a pureblood, and after he turned me it was like stripping a general of all his medals an stripes..." Jamie had grown quiet, thinking of that rainy night that Rigoletto had turned her. The pain, the frenzied terror, then the blackness. Jamie managed to cover up a shudder at the memories.
Though at the mention of Aaron, Jamie began to eye the other vampire warily, wondering if this was one of Voldemort's spies disguised as a vampire. Jamie felt her tenseness return almost immediately, alarm spreading through her. "No," Jamie said coldly, her upper lip raised in a snarl once more. She didn't care about the picture of the little girl. Anyone could hold up a picture and say it was their little sister. At the mention of disappearing, Jamie's eyes flashed. Was that a subtle hint of a threat of what was to come? Jamie grabbed her wand, pointing it at the other vampire. "I will not let you anywhere near my son. If you so much as think about trying to see him, I will personally peel your skin off your cold dead carcass to hang on my wall," she spat, her eyes glowing with mistrust and threats that promised to be fulfilled.

Deran backed away slowly, she didn't believe him. This whole time she hadn't believed a word he had said. This mistrust for another vampire, for another person was astonishing to Deran. He had given his word to protect her son, he knew what it was like to give your life for someone. "I see that is where we differ. I see death as a friend, not a cold, lonely place. After being alive as long as I have, you begin to lose sight of what being alive really means."
Deran paused, he fingered his bracelet. "I don't know how to prove to you that I'm being truthful, that I am what I am. I have no lineage to anyone, and honestly care not to take sides, seeing how I usually watch everyone die at some point, usually from old age or war." Deran slipped of his bracelet, he felt naked without it around his wrist. "However, this may help." Deran took his dagger out from underneath his cloak, holding it over his wrist he cut himself. It took awhile for the blood to come forth, and when it did it was tinted with silver showing his age and his families ancestory. Deran dipped his fingers in the slow moving blood, the bracelet floating in front of him.
He whispered the ancient word, "Leylaen," and then spread his blood around the outside of the bracelet. The bracelet unraveled, the ancient words from underneath shown in a bright blue light. A single key rose from the bracelet, and a chest appeared out of thin air before Deran. Deran knelt next to the chest, the key in hand. "This chest contains my clans history, of everything that has happened. It also contains my history, of whom I have talked with and what I have done. This is only written down for the leaders of the clan, and was mainly used in times of war, in order to figure out the events leading up to the war or past mistakes."
Deran placed the key in the lock, turning it. The chest's lid slowly opened as if an invisible force was holding it. A book rose out of the chest, hovering in the air between Deran and the other vampire before him. "What would you like to know?" Deran looked at her, if she didn't believe him, and all that he had said after this, then there was no hope for her. She would lose his alliance and he would have to disappear again, she would most likely die in the near future, not by his hand, but by her own for her lack of trust in the world.

Jamie stepped back as Deran pulled out a dagger. A low growl reverberated from her chest as she watched the other vampire with increasing tenseness. She watched as the chest appeared. No, she would not touch that book. It could be poisoned or some type of trap. Jamie glared at the vampire, almost positive that he was part of Ramsies' clan. She knew they had people looking for her, and she wouldn't doubt that this man was one of them.
Jamie backed away from the man and his objects warily. "I'd like to know why you want my trust so badly," she said coldly. "Besides, I don't want strangers like you anywhere near my son. Just because you supposedly want to 'redeem' yourself to your sister does not mean that I will allow you to use my son as your salvation object," she spat. No, she would not..because Aaron was her own salvation. She would die, kill, and sacrifice everything for him, no matter what.
