It was a lazy Sunday afternoon and Sam had decided to take a walk out onto the bridge. Lately he had been distracted by the new girl he had met, Ava. She was interesting and something about her made him feel complete. It was odd. The sun was causing the lake water to sparkle, but the bridge gave enough cover. A breeze was blowing and it was perfect weather for just being outside. Sam leaned against the railing, and looked down at the water. He use to be afraid of it, but now he didn't mind the water. Being alone was great, but it was soon interrupted by another person. Sam spotted them walking along the bridge and turned his back to the approaching figure.

Caleigh was bored, it was Sunday and for once she wasn't out exploring Hogsmeade Village on unauthorized school trips, but rather being a model student, sitting in her common room, and trying to get caught up on some school work. It had been a while since Caleigh had last seen or heard from Deran, and she was starting to wonder exactly what he was up too, but she knew he couldn't be too far.. or well he could but he would have told her wouldn't he? What if he's hurt? Caleigh wondered, her mind spinning over all the things Deran had told her the first time they met.
Shaking her head, Caleigh decided she needed fresh air. She needed to clear her mind of all the negative that was starting to over take her. Looking outside, Caleigh grabbed a simple black zip up sweater and threw it over her tank. She knew it wasn't that cold out, but the breeze made the air feel cold against bare skin. Wearing a pair of jean sorts, and her tank and sweater, Caleigh slipped into her favorite pair of old black flip-flop sandals and headed out to the bridge.
As Caleigh neared the bridge, she noticed another person was already there. A boy, she didn't know who he was or what year he was, but Caleigh was sure she'd seen him at the Slytherin table. Walking casually closer, Cally noticed the boy turn his back to her. How rude, the small Ravenclaw thought. Flipping her long dark girls over her shoulder Caleigh rolled her eyes as she walked past him. "Geez Anti-social much?" she chided a mocking tone in her voice. It wasn't like Cally to be rude, but well, the boy who was now behind her had started it.

Sam heard the person, a girl, say something as she past him. "Yes actually I am anti-social." He said in a serious tone, turning to face the girl. She looked a little familiar, maybe one of Ava's many friends. "Is that a problem?" He asked smirking. Sam was used to people being rude to him, and her tone of voice hinted she wasn't that happy. The breeze picked up and Samuel brushed his bangs out of his eyes while he waited for a response. Something was surely changing within him. A few days ago Sam would have just ignored the girl and continued to gaze out at the water. Lately though, he had been socializing with people more; very unusually for the loner Slytherin.
The water flowed beneath the bridge and Samuel listened to the calming sound. The calming sound that he had hated so much. Things really could change if you set your mind to it. He knew it was his fault for turning his back to the girl, that he should apologize for his rude behavior, although it was fun getting on peoples' nerves so he would play it out a bit longer.
