Ava was having a bad night. She had gotten a letter from her mother that wouldn't really be considered good. In the letter her mother scolded her about studying for OWLs and getting prepared for the future. It was a bunch of nonsense that she ignored.
The weather was perfect; clear and warm. The stars glistened from above, and the moon left patches of light on the rooftop. She just had on a light sweater over her pajamas. Her snowy owl, Aphrodite, was with her. Usually she could sense when Ava was having a rough time and having her company made Ava feel a little better. Ava thought it was just her and the owl when she heard a twig snap a few yards away from her. Gathering up all the courage she had Ava took a deep breath before whispering, "Who's there?"

Rigoletto had been doing rounds he had finished them in the castle so now it was time to cheek out side & the grounds not that it would take long at least for him, it did help that he could see better then most & could smell, as well here people that might other wise be un noted but, as he moved to the roof he picked up the smell of a student.
The one way he knew it was a student was because he had touch many students already so he could normally pick out by smell who it was as one would a voice or face, as he approached he heard Ava’s heart beat.
He was silent as he moved how ever he by chance steeped on a twig that snapped under his foot, he cursed silently to him self for being so foolish to give him self away, he held to the shadows as he watched Ave but, for the sound of her voice it appeared she was fearful if some one did not answer compared to one that did not & waited to pounce so to speak on her. With that he moved silently out of the shadows his mask in place as always as he watched Ava, though with the moon light it did make his eye with the mask almost more hallow or perhaps a better word not there for there was only at time the flicker of a notion that there was an eye there.
Rigoletto moved silently before stopping as he spoke “Miss. Kingsly dare I ask what you are doing up at such an hour, you should know well that it is past curfew that students are suppose to be out & about the castle”

A gust of wind caused the night grow somewhat chillier, so Ava pulled her sweater closer around herself while she waited for a response. An older voice caught her attention and she stood up quickly. It was one of her professors and he had demanded what she was doing up so late past curfew. Of course this just made a bad night worse. Ava thought of some excuses, but all of them sounded horrible so she settled with the truth.
"I'm sorry Professor, I just received an unpleasant letter from my mother and wanted to come outside to clear my mind so I wouldn't do anything irrational," it sounded a lot better in her mind, but it was too late now to change it.
Aphrodite flew away after Ava had said that and she suddenly felt more vulnerable. Hopefully the professor would be easy on her and just give her a warning, but it seemed unlikely.

Rigoletto heard her words his eyes narrowed as he though to question her on what the letter was about but, held him self back it was not his concern though her safety was. He felt that she at least was being honest with him & so far he had not found her out after curfew though he knew that he should enforce the rules after all that is what they where there for but, he had not decided on that fully yet. He watched her before he spoke “I am sorry to hear that” He sighed inwardly before he spoke again “Very well for the moment I will not give you a detection because of you breaking the rules but, you best not let me find you out her after curfew again. You would do wise to return to you common room before another Professor or staff member finds you though if you are heading back now, I will escorted you to you common room before returning to what I was doing” Perhaps if she needed some one to speak with she would come to him to talk but, he would not hold her to it or expected it no he simply would do his job & insure that they rules where fallowed with in reason.

Ava couldn't believe her luck. He was actually letting her go without detention or any other punishment.
"No sir, I'll be sure to stay in the Common Room after curfew from now on, and yes I'll head back now. I'm feeling a bit better," she picked up the letter off the roof and stowed it in her sweater pocket, then she headed toward where the professor was standing. Aphrodite was flying overhead and Ava called out a soft 'goodnight' to her.
As soon as she was back in the Common Room she planned on writing a response to her mother's letter. The night was really starting to get cold now, so it would be a good time to head back inside. It would also be a good idea because she would have a teacher escort. Filch or his cat wouldn't be bothering her on her trip back to Ravenclaw tower.

Rigoletto watched Ava, he did not miss as she placed the letter inside her sweeter before moving to walk pasted him, he said nothing as he moved to fallow her back to her common room. The trip would take a few minutes but, he did not plain on speaking upless Ava wished to speak.
There was a chance that they might cross paths with others such as Filch or that but, they would not bother them though one might question it but, it would not be out of place.
Rigoletto did not miss the sound of the owl as he had come close to them before likely turning for the owlery though he said nothing on it as he watched & listened to the things around them.

The walk back to Ravenclaw tower was pretty silent. Ava felt uncomfortable with the silence and decided to break it.
"Thank you Professor for escorting me back to my dorms," she said. They were about half-way there and hadn't run into anyone yet. Ava had never realized the castle could be eerie this late at night. All the portraits were asleep and the light from Ava's wand lit up each one brightly. Some of the occupants complained, but others slept right through it. The corridors weren't as cold as she thought they would be, but Ava still pulled her sweater tighter. The letter crinkled inside the pocket and her memories from the past couples hours came back. She was still mad with her mother, but maybe tomorrow she could work things out.

Rigoletto silently lead her to her common room but, on the way he heard her words he glanced at her before he spoke “Your welcome Miss. Kingsly, though you might want to find one you can speak to when you feel like leaving after curfew so that you do not find your self in trouble” It was not saying he would do it more, that she would do well to speak with a friend on the matter or ask a friend if she could speak to them when such a time a rose again.

Ava listened to what the professor told her and nodded at his words.
"Yes, sir. I can try to find someone to talk to next time," Ava said. They had arrived at the entrance to the Ravenclaw Common Room and the portrait was fast asleep. Ava prodded the picture with the tip of her wand.
"Well goodnight Professor," Ava said as she waiting for the portrait to fully wake up.

Rigoletto fallowed Ava to her common room he heard her words, he was glade to hear that she would try to do as he suggested for in the end it would do her likely better then trying to get into trouble. With that he heard her last words he lightly spoke to them “Good night Miss. Kingsly, sleep well” He nodded to her before he turned to leave, to go back to checking the grounds to insure that Hogwarts was safe.
