Ava and Caleigh had arrived at the local clothing store in Hogsmeade. They were on a mission; getting Ava new shoes. Her old, ink-splattered ones were now lying in a garbage bin.
The shoes were located in the back of the store, and as they approached them Ava said, "So we need to find shoes that would look good with any outfit," She glanced at a pair of bright pink converse, "Hey those would have matched your hair from earlier," she said pointing at the stunningly bright shoes, laughing.

Cally walked next to Ava her rainbow coloured hair pulled up into an elastic with pieces falling out to frame her fame. People were looking at her, but she didn't really care, at least she was being talked about for reasons other than her mother dying or her father remarrying a muggle. "So basically something is a basic colour, white, black, brown.. that kind of thing right?"
Cally glanced over the shelves looking for a nice pair of shoes that would be good for everyday use. Turning to see what Ava had pulled from the shelf, Cally smiled. "The pink is slightly different," Cally laughed. "Now we need something rainbow coloured..." Cally played with her curly hair wrapping it around her fingers before letting it fall behind her shoulders again.
"I wonder how long people will be talking about this," Cally said smiling. The whole situation was amusing to the Ravenclaw girl, and the charm would eventually wear off. "Ooo look at these," Cally said pulling a pair of shoes off the rack.

Ava blushed slightly, "I'm sorry," she apologized for the hundredth time. "I don't see any shoes that are rainbow, but we can buy a white pair and tie-dye them," she smiled.
She placed the bright shoes back and looked at the ones Cally held. "Those are cute!" she exclaimed. They would match with practically any outfit. "Hopefully they have my size," Ava walked over and glanced at the shoes, looking for sixes. She spotted a pair and snatched them up. "Do you want to browse for some clothes before we head out?" The shop was practically empty, except for an annoyed looking shopkeeper standing behind the counter.

Deran had been wandering the streets again, lost in thought. The little bird had gone off somewhere to pick at some worms. Deran lifted his face in the breeze, and on it was carried a scent very familiar to him. She must have come by a little while ago, Deran thought to himself. He followed Caleigh's sweet scent of her blood, and found himself standing outside of a clothing store. Deran smiled, as he opened the door.
The shopkeeper gave him an annoyed expression and returned back to sulking. Deran stopped, recognizing another scent...it was Ava. Maybe they came together. Deran quietly walked around the store, peeking at Caleigh. He was shocked at first by her colorful hair, but then had to stifle his laugh..she would do something like that. He grabbed a random pair of red tennis shoes, in her size and walked up behind Caleigh.
He held out the shoe in front of her, being careful not to let his cloak show. "May I suggest this pair, for the beautiful young lady?" Deran stated in a low voice, a smile playing across his lips.

Ava heard the door chime and looked to see who entered. She saw a familiar face walk up behind Cally with red shoes. Not wanting to interrupt anything right off, Ava stood aside and started browsing through some shirts hanging on a rack. The Ravenclaw focused on the shirts in front of her and tried not to listen in on Cally and Deran's conversation.

Cally laughed, "Don't be sorry, Frankly I like my new look, and anyone who has a problem with it, can deal with me." Laughing as Ava suggested tie-dying a pair of white runner, Cally had to admit that was a brilliant idea. "You know I would never have thought of that. Maybe I should make a whole outfit in tie-dye." Cally stuck her tongue out playfully towards Ava.
Watching as Ava picked out her size of shoes. Cally did another quick glance over the rest of the shoes to see if there was anything that caught her attention, that would have become a must have right then and there. "We can look around, it's not like there is aything going on at the castle today, so we might as well take out time." Cally smiles turning to head toward the clothing, totally missing the fact that someone was coming up behind her and Ava.
Heading over to the clothes, Cally smiled over her shoulder at Ava, "You know," she said thoughtfully nodding towards the shop keeper. "I think he's jealous and wishes he had an Ava special hair style. He's just in awe knowing he could never match up to our coolness." Cally laughed, and was about to start looking through some shirts when she heard a familiar mans voice behind her.
"Really?" she said shaking her head. "This isn't a hair joke now is it Deran?" Cally questioned without turning around. Looking to Ava Cally sighed. "Do I even want to know what colour?" She asked her smile spreading to her eyes now. It had been too long since she'd last seen Deran, and if being away from school with Ava wasn't enough to make her day wonderful, his presence made it all the better.

Deran turned Caleigh around, pecking her on the forehead. "Of course not. I was merely admiring Ava's wonderful hairstyling techniques. Though I must admit I am a little lost in picking out shoes and such, so laugh at them if you will." Deran smiled as he held up the seemingly ugly red shoes.
He turned smiling in Ava's direction. "Nice to see you again, Ava." Deran stepped back looking at the two girls. "I'm glad you both know each other, seeing how the only two people I really know are friends makes life just all the more wonderful! Though I hope I am not intruding on a girls outing." Deran laughed joyfully, throwing his head back.

Ava laughed, "Maybe we could make matching tie-dye outfits. And yes, I bet he is so jealous that he just wants to rip all your hair out and use it to cover his balding head," She said over by the rack of shirts.
She turned and looked at Cally and Devan, "It's nice to see you again too, Devan," she smiled. "Cally let me practice Transfiguration on her and well, let's just say I need a little work." Ava looked at the ground sheepishly.
"Oh you won't be interupting a girls' outing, but only if you don't mind giving me some advice." Ava turned and grabbed a blue shirt off the rack. "Does this shirt make my eyes stand out?" she giggled. Ava didn't really expect a true answer, she was just playing around.

"We so should," Cally agreed laughing. "We could start a new trend or something at Hogwarts. heck, probably even the teachers would want to join in." As Ava said that the shop keeper probably wants to rip all of Cally's hair out and cover his balding head with it, Cally covered her hair with her hands protectively. "No! My beautiful rainbow coloured hair. He can't have it. Not over my dead body... Plus I don't think he'd look good in curls..." Cally trailed off crossing her arms as she gave the shop keeper a once over... "I don't think he can smile," she said offhandedly, "and he hasn't moved since we got here..."
Squealing quietly to herself as Deran turned her around and kissed her forehead, Cally suddenly felt giggly and happy. "Ava is a wonderful hairstylist," Cally said with a nod. "Wait. What? You to know each other?" Cally stood back from Deran and looked back and forth between Deran and Ava. "And those shoes are awful Deran," Caleigh said looking over the red tennis shoes, having to bite her bottom lip to keep from laughing.
When Ava asked Deran whether the shirt she was holding made her eyes stand out or not, Cally couldn't help but giggle slightly. To be honest the shirt was cute and it did make Ava's eyes pop but she wondered what Deran would say. Keeping her mouth shut, Cally wandered over the the rack of shirts and started thumbing through them once again

Deran looked at the shirt, a confussed expression on his face. "I....um....I don't know, I guess they are kind of the same color." Deran smiled, laughing at himself. "I wouldn't take my advice on clothes so seriously, I've been wearing the same outfit every day for what seems to be the majority of my life." Deran winked at the girls, the outfit had been chossen by his mother, the coat was his fathers. Everything about him held a memory.
Deran put the shoes away. He looked at Caleigh, "yes, I met Ava when she spilled ink all over her shoes, and we started talking about life...though we didn't get too far seeing how Ava was soaked from the thunderstorm." Deran tilted his head at Caleigh as if saying that she was the only one who knew his secret.

Ava watched as Deran struggled on what to say. She laughed, "I was just kidding anyway, but thank you for the marvelous advice." She turned toward Cally, "What do you think Cally?" she asked.
She listened to Deran explain how they met. "Ugh, don't remind me of the ink incident. I wasted 5 galleons on that mess." The girl turned and glanced in the mirror with the blue shirt against her torso. She really did love the color.

Cally couldn't help but smile as Deran stumbled over his words was searching for an answer to give to Ava. The interaction between them was amusing and Cally couldn't help but giggle quietly. "The shirt is really pretty," Cally said when asked her opinion. "I think it's a must have," she smiled watching the other girl look at herself. As Cally continued to look through the racks, she listed to Deran looking up just in time to see his look at her to say that only Cally knew his secret.
Smilng, Cally pulled a shirt off the rack, it was cute, but she was having a hard time imagining it on herself. "Really about life, eh?" Cally asked going beside Ava to hold her shirt up against her torso. "Did we come to any conclusions about the meaning of lie or anything like that?" Cally smiled, she was joking. Turning around she put the shirt back on the rack.
"Wait you were here in Hogsmeade Ava?" Cally questioned. "Was there a school trip or something?" Cally bit her lip.. Had there been one she had missed? Was it the day she had spent the whole afternoon in detention?

Deran laughed, "Yes, we solved all of life's mysteries. I believe all the great philosophers would be so jealous of us."
"So, are you two skipping school, or is this a designated field trip?" Deran winked at them, knowing that when he was younger he wasn't there half the time, but then again he didn't get older, so he had multiple times to actually finish school.

Ava laughed, "It's always a school designated trip, we certainly have permission to be missing class right now." She turned toward Cally, "Thank you, I think I'm going to get it." Ava put the shirt in her little shopping bag with her sneakers.
"There was a trip last Saturday, when we had all that rain in the afternoon. Not many people went, although The Three Broomsticks was crowded with Hogwarts students. Like I told Deran, it felt like we were in the middle of a birthday party for me." She looked around. The shop keeper was giving her dirty looks again. Ava glared right back until he looked away. "Ha, I guess I'm too mean for him," she muttered laughing again.
