REMUS LUPIN
james utechinBasic Information
Full Name: Remus John Lupin
Nicknames: Moony
Date of Birth: March 10
Gender: Male
Occupation: Student at Hogwarts-Prefect, sixth year
Race: Werewolf
Appearance: Remus wears rather shabby clothes. They often have patches and/or small holes, and his hair is shaggy and messy. He rarely combs it, for he really doesn't care. However, he will try to dress up as much as he can if asked to. He didn't come from a particularly rich family, and so his wizard's robes aren't the nicest that they could be, nor are his regular clothes. Remus is tall, and rather thin. He used to have injuries around the full moon, but since their fifth year his friends have been coming to see him as Anamagi. He has grey eyes, and light brown hair. It is quite long, and occasionally long enough to be pulled back into a ponytail. He is quite attractive at this age, but his face has an air of maturity, as if he is old beyond his years. This would come from his monthly transformations into a werewolf, as do the various scars on his body and face.
Possessions: The Marauder's Map-Remus designed this with Potter, Black, and Pettigrew.
Personality
Personality: Lupin is mainly a bookworm. He loves to read, and is very self-possessed. He makes an effort to control himself, partly because that is his nature, and partly because he dreads the times when he is a werewolf and cannot control his actions. He reads a lot, however, has somehow managed to become friends with Peter Pettigrew, James Potter, and Sirius Black, and is civil with Severus Snape. Snape knows about his lycanthropy and teases him horribly about it, but Remus never loses his temper and really is only mildly upset. That might be because whenever Sirius and Potter tease Snape, Remus doesn't have the nerve to stop them and he feels awful about this.
Remus is a very quiet boy, and, while he is friends with them, believe that many of his friends' antics are 'out of line.' However, he doesn't have the courage to tell them to stop except on rare occasions. He never shouts, never yells, never loses his temper. He is very, very quiet around the time of the full moon, as he dreads his transformation and views it as an illness. He hates Fenrir Greyback for biting him as a child, but tries to live as normal a life as possible with his 'sickness'. Remus trusts his friends a lot, and he would die for them. However, he didn't trust them with his secret, and let them figure it out for themselves.
Remus is very kind, and almost always sees the best in people. He is tolerant and gentle, and exceptionally good natured, even after all of the prejudice he is subject to. He forgive easily, and is very mature for his age-he is against the bullying that Potter and Black and occasionally Pettigrew enjoy. He is always ready to help out a friend, whether it is on homework or in battle. He's the kind of person that you tell all of your secrets to and then never have to worry that he'll give them away. Quite the confidential, Remus never tells. He knows a lot about what goes on at Hogwarts, more so than any other student except for his friends. Occasionally he joins Potter and Black in detention, as he takes part in their lighter pranks. He never
Likes: Books, the library, reading, charms, Hogwarts, his friends.
Dislikes: Bullying, major pranks, getting into trouble, the full moon, Fenrir Greyback, turning into a werewolf.
Strengths: Remus is a very strong wizard, and he reads a lot. So, he knows many spells and practices with them a lot. He spends almost all of his time reading, and so is up to date on many current events and often knows an answer to a question before the teacher goes over it in class.
Remus is also very trustworthy. He never lies if he can avoid it, and he never, ever tells a secret that he has been entrusted with. He cares for all of his friends, no matter what, however he does not like to be betrayed. He loves all of his friends for not rejecting them when they figured out that he was a werewolf, and especially since they taught themselves to become Anamagi to be with him.
Remus is a good Charmer. This is demonstrated mainly in the Marauder's Map, which must have required a good amount of charm work and it has to be assumed that Remus did much of this. However, not one of the boys tell exactly who did what. He also is good in all of his classes, but DADA is another strength of his. Also, he excels in duels and does very well in nonverbal and wandless magic, although he has only done a few spells using those techniques.
Remus also has good behavior and morals. He dislikes and strongly disapproves of teasing and bullying, and rarely takes part in the meaner pranks his friends play. He has had good behavior and manners and grades so far, and so became a Prefect in his fifth year.
Weaknesses: Obviously, his lycanthropy is one. Every full moon he becomes weak and transforms into a werewolf. This is a major problem when he is around humans, but not so much when he is around other animals. However, he cannot control himself after his transformation, as his instinct as a werewolf takes over.
Remus has been teased a lot during his life so far, and many witches and wizards are prejudiced against him because of his condition. However, his friends accepted him, and so he finds it incredibly hard to stand up to them when he disagrees with their actions. As a Prefect, he tends to let them off too easily.
Also, Remus is very trusting and sees the good in people, rather than the bad. So, when it comes to a fight he is likely to be at least a little blind to the faults being disputed. He will try to break it up, and so most likely be hurt in the process.
Remus loves his friends and family more than he can say. If anything were to happen to them, then he wouldn't know what to do. They are the reason why he can spend full moons in relative comfort, and the reason why he was accepted into Hogwarts (Dumbledore). So, if anyone wanted to hurt him they could get at him through his friends.
Wand: 12 1/2 inch Ash, Hair from the Mane of a Kelpie (I will check this)
Happiest thought: Being with people that accept him for what he is.
Boggart: When Lupin faces a Boggart, it turns into a full moon, as that is what he fears most.
Patronus: See Happiest Thought. It is never directly stated in the books what his Patronus is, but I assume it is a Wolf.
History
Heritage: It's not clear, but I'm guessing pureblood.
Social Standing: Remus wasn't born to a particularly wealthy family, but neither were they poor. His closest friends were Pettigrew, Potter, and Black, and Snape hated him by association with Potter and Black.
House: Gryffindor
History: Remus Lupin was born a normal wizard, however, he was bitten by Fenrir Greyback at about ten years old. His parents tried everything, but could not cure him. He was accepted into Hogwarts, and the Shrieking Shack was put aside for him so that he could transform without hurting anyone else. However, frustrated, Remus bit and clawed at himself. He did not tell his friends, but they figured it out in their second year.
Instead of rejecting Remus, his friends began teaching themselves how to become Anamagi. Since werewolves are only a danger to humans, Pettigrew, Black, and Potter could join him and keep him company during the full moons. However, Severus Snape figured this out, and, although sworn to secrecy by Dumbledore, has teased Remus since. In his fifth year at Hogwarts, Remus became a Prefect. However, he found it hard to keep his friends in line since he was so grateful to them for not rejecting him. He traveled with them around the campus, and together they learned more than anyone else about the school. They compiled this information into a map called the 'Marauder's Map'.

How long have you been RPing? Say five, six years?
Where did you find us? ^^ I started this site with Snapey and Jess.
Sample RP:
Remus stared down at the test, his quill in his hand. He knew all of the information that he needed to know, and knew he would ace the test. However, he did not want to start. Something held him back from it, and he pushed against the urge to ball the sheet of paper up and throw it away.
The very first question on the test was about werewolves.
Remus sighed softly, and his quill pen scratched against the parchment as he answered in his flawless script. It was too easy sometimes. Sometimes he went looking for a challenge, but never found it. On many, many occasions, Remus had ventured into the Restricted Section of the library. Even then some of the books were too easy reading.
Only some, however.
Some were the thick kind, the kind that smelled like the leather tanner's and dust. Those were the kinds that Lupin liked-the ones with crinkled pages from years and years of use. Or, better yet, the ones with bright, shining new covers that begged to be opened by some curious mind. Those were the types of books that he liked, not the slim textbooks that were assigned to every class. He did not go so far as to memorize every single one of them word for word, but he did pay attention to what they said, unlike many of his classmates.
Remus licked his lips, and wondered at the taste of chocolate. True, they had gone to Hogsmead recently and James had given Remus some of his chocolate right before class, but he thought that the scent would be gone by now. Suddenly, Remus jerked his head upwards, searching his mind for the date. Yes, it was the fifteenth. Yes. It was a full moon on the seventeenth.
It was as if Remus had just breathed a heavy sigh. His shoulders slumped ever so slightly, and his typewriter script became just a tiny bit wilder. An ink blot appeared where his pen was resting, and Remus picked it up with a jerk, frowning at the imperfection on the otherwise clean parchment. It didn't matter. James and Peter and Sirius would be there, so it didn't matter.
He turned his attention to the next question, silently bemoaning the fact that he had learned about Dark Creatures in his third year, and wondering why they had to learn about them all over again.
