Ava's heart skipped a beat at the thought of them hanging out again. It seemed Sam was implying that with what he had said about 'another time'. "You'll have to tell me all about it," she replied, smiling.
She swatted at his hand when he poked her. "Yes, yes I'm absolutely sure I'm fine." In fact, Ava felt like she was melting, in a good way.
Ava heard Sam's question and memories filled her mind. His gaze distracted her slightly, but she still focused on one.
"My favorite memory was with my dad. We were sitting on the front porch of the house, just us two. My mom was on a trip with my grandparents and Andrew, my brother, was spending the night at a friend's house. I was 6 and we were watching a thunderstorm roll in; counting the time between the thunder and lightning. It was great because everytime lightning flashed I would scream and my dad would tell me the thunder wouldn't come because I would scare it off," Ava laughed at the memory and wiped some tears from her eyes. "He died when I was 11."
After telling her memory, Ava thought of a question to ask Sam. "Have you ever travelled to a foreign place? and if you did, what was it like?"

Sam listened to Ava describe her memory. "I'm sorry about your father, even though you've probably heard people say that many times." He placed his hand on her shoulder. "If you want to talk about it just let me know." He removed his hand and brushed his bangs out of his eyes for the umpteenth time. Immediately after hearing Ava's questions the Slytherin knew what to say. "Yes, I've traveled to twenty different countries. When I was younger, my parents and I went around the world. They wanted to have more children, but when they found out it was impossible, they decided to make the best out of me." He paused and took a breath before continuing. "The places we went were wonderful. All the cultures and traditions are unbelievable. I learned how to speak Spanish, French, and German throughout all our adventures."
Sam sighed at the great memories. He thought about another question to ask Ava. "What are the three most important objects you possess?"

Ava smiled Sam's kind words.
"Thank you, I guess it always helps to hear it again," she said placing her hands on her lap. It was getting later, and class was going to be starting soon.
"You really went to all those places? That's amazing," Ava said in awe looking up at Sam. She heard his questions for her and thought of an answer.
"I guess I don't have three objects. Just two," she help up two fingers. "My number one most important is my father's knife. It's the only thing I have of his and if I ever lost it I would be devastated," she didn't have the knife with her, like usual though. "As for item number two, it would be this bracelet. I found it in my trunk the other morning. Before I came to Hogwarts I had a muggle pen pal. Obviously I didn't tell her I was a witch, but we became close friends and sent each other bracelets. This just reminds me of my childhood, something I miss sometimes."
Ava heard distant noises of the day beginning. "We'll have to finish this later, I think class is starting soon," she still needed to change as well.

Noises were coming down from the castle. Sam listened to Ava as she answered his question. "I think everyone misses their childhood at some point." He said searching the girl's eyes. Right then the bell rung from the castle, signaling eight A.M, which meant first class was almost over. "Yes, we better get going so we don't miss any more classes." Sam stood up and offered Ava his hand, intertwining his fingers with hers. "Let me escort you back to the castle." He said smiling and flipping his bangs out of his eyes again.

Ava giggled as Sam took her hand. "Sure, I have Transfiguration next," her fingers felt light in his hand and she smiled at the whole situation. Maybe her and Sam could be something more, eventually. "What class do you have?" she asked curiously. Ava wanted to get to know Sam as well as possible and it would only happen if she asked him questions.
The sun was hitting her directly with its rays and her hand was getting sweaty. She didn't want to pull away though, because it felt nice to be escorted somewhere and to just be in contact with him. Ava wished this moment would last forever, and that class would just end, giving Samuel and her time to bond and just be together.
